  1. Thank you all for organising such a great and laid back event for all ages and abilities. You all do such a good job year after year so thank you. I was disappointed [as I was over the initial discomfort and into a rhythm] in the length of the run leg. It felt way to short on the day so after the race I mapped it out to be roughly 1.6-1.7k. Last year we went left then all the way down to second surf parking lot then back to track along due top. If issue is with bikes and runner traffic why not stay left as you did this year, but hang a right at road before second surf and run through the development our up and around and back to get to that 3.5/4k mark. There is a bit of a hill climb there too could be nasty. Anyhow thanks for what you do and good luck for improving for next year. Kind regards, jOe

    • Thank you Joe for your comments .We agree the run at this event was way too short . Partly this was due to a misunderstanding as to where the turn would be between committee members . There are a few reason to try and simplify the course – one of them the number of entrants taking shortcuts due to the number of turns and overlaps. The other thing is to try and avoid counting laps – because it is 4 for the long course some will lose count ,without any method to time splits we may not know ! The course you describe is similar to the old aquathon course but is one of the suggested alternatives. It may be that we will do 2 and 4 laps of a slightly longer loop (2.3k ) . All I can say is the course for March 11 will be different.
