Presentation Night was held along with the AGM at the Esplanade Hotel on 18th September . The highlight was Deb’s slideshow of what has gone on during the year , and Deb you should post everyone’s musings or your interpretation thereof here .All award winners receive gift voucher from our new cycling sponsor Wheelheat.

September 2015 News

Jenny Merrick continues with some outstanding results . Having tackled the Yeppoon Olympic distance event in August and the recent Hazlewood event and completing both in under the 3 hours Jenny has won her age category in the Sunshine Coast 70.3 in Mooloolaba. Well Jen we reckon this can only end in one location .

Brett Franklin continues his great form in the Victorian Duathlon series , with 3rd , 4th and 3rd overall , with the fastest bike time in every event . The last event of the series is 27th September . Brett completed Ironman WA 205 in a sub 10 hour time of 9:33 and had strong finishes in the Challenge Sheparton and Challenge Melbourne events ( 4.11 and 4.30 )

President , Cameron Wright has just completed his East Coast Cycle Challenge with the assistance of Gavin Slavin and Dennis Neal . Over $5000 has been raised for cancer research and beyond blue . You can still donate by going to the East Coast Cycle Challenge website.

Gavin and Rick returned from Europe having both completed the Roth Challenge ( along with tagalong Dennis Neal ) . For Rick it was his longest day ever with a time of over 14 hours . Rick has had strong finishes in half iron distance events at Ballarat , Geelong and Bateman’s Bay , turning the clock back a decade at Geelong with a personal best of 5.22 . Gavin competed well at Port Macquarie and gained a spot for World Ironman Championship Event in Kona where he will compete on the 10th October .

Tony Durand finished well in the Geelong 70.3 in under he 5 1/2 hours .

Phil Hanley continues in great form . Not content with a second place at Challenge Melbourne he backed up a week later at Ironman 70.3 Geelong taking out his age category .
