After the choppy conditions of last 2 years athletes were greeted with perfect swimming conditions with flat calm seas. The winds on the other hand did not disappoint with a stiff north westerly shifting to south west and strengthening making tough conditions on the bike especially on the return to transition .

In the short course   it was Magnus Michelson with a consistent performance holding off local Barracuda Brett Franklin , who has the fastest bike time of the day , by just over a minute with Brendan Cullen in third.In the women the winner was  local athlete Kara Landells , 2 minutes ahead of Alice Bacquie with Bernadette Spinks in third.

In the long course Reuben Kuah was first out of the water but was soon passed on the bike leg by Chris Scammell and Dennis Neal . Chris Scammell , who is in impressive form continued on to wih in a time 1:55:44 . Reuben Kuah was second some 8 minutes behind with Dennis Neal in third . In the women’s race Christine Jell was in first ahead of Fiona Neuwirth.
